Particularly, in the sense that Leapor portrays a very resigned woman’s interpretation of the world, in which she suggests that no level of education can “comfort” (13) her, due the difficulty presented by her status as a woman.
Mary Leapor, a Northamptonshire kitchen maid, produced a substantial body of exceptional poetry that was only published after her early death at the age of twenty-four.
